In the heart of a democratic India, where our Constitution is considered sacred and the ideals of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar are revered as foundational pillars, a recent act by Samajwadi Party’s National President and former Chief Minister Shri Akhilesh Yadav has shaken the conscience of the nation.
On a public platform, Shri Akhilesh Yadav displayed a poster showing only half of Babasaheb Ambedkar’s image, placing his own picture alongside it. This was not just a matter of poor design or oversight — it was a grave insult to the very soul of modern India. Dr. Ambedkar, the architect of our Constitution, fought for dignity, equality, and social justice. To partially erase his presence is to attempt to overshadow the legacy of a legend, something that cannot and will not be tolerated by the people of this country.
A Nation's Outrage
The people of India — across caste, creed, and ideology — have expressed fury and pain at this deeply disrespectful act. The Dalit community, in particular, feels betrayed and attacked by a political party that claims to work for the marginalised. Such acts are not just political blunders; they are affronts to national values and identity.
This was not a slip. It was symbolic. It was disrespectful. And it was unacceptable.
Protest in Gautam Buddh Nagar: A Voice for Justice
In response, a strong protest was registered today at the District Magistrate Office of Gautam Buddh Nagar, led by senior BJP leader and former Bar Association President Shri Sushil Bhati, with the support of BJP District President Shri Abhishek Sharma and a large number of dedicated BJP workers.
The message was loud and clear:
“The insult of Babasaheb will not be tolerated under any circumstances.”
Though no formal memorandum was submitted, the protest sent a thunderous signal — that India stands with Ambedkar. The BJP workers of Gautam Buddh Nagar showcased discipline, strength, and unwavering loyalty to the principles Babasaheb lived and died for.
A Call for National Apology
It is now the moral responsibility of Shri Akhilesh Yadav to apologize publicly to the entire nation. This is not a party issue. It is about national pride and social justice. If political leaders begin to trivialize icons like Babasaheb Ambedkar, what message does it send to the generations who look up to him for inspiration?
We Will Not Be Silent
This protest is not the end — it is the beginning of a renewed commitment to defend the honor of our national icons, to protect the dignity of our Constitution, and to ensure that no political power ever dares to distort the legacy of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
India is watching.
Dalit communities are watching.
The youth are watching.
History is watching.
